Special Events at NYCC

July 5

July 5: This month's Chanting Service, held in the main chapel from 12:30-2:00 pm, is in honor of the upcoming Guru Purnima, a traditional Indian festival celebrated on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashadh (July 29.) It is a sacred occasion for disciples to offer heartfelt homage to their revered Guru. The service will include a short introduction on the traditional significance of Guru Purnima, followed by an hour-long chanting session where we will offer our "roses" of devotion and gratitude in the form of chants, to our own beloved Gurudeva, Paramahansa Yogananda, and will conclude with a short meditation, tuning into the Guru's presence.

If you plan to attend, please be seated in the chapel by 12:25 pm. This service is 1 hour and 30 minutes long. You are welcome to leave early if needed.

July 12

July 12: All young adults, ages 18-40, are welcome to join the Young Adults Group for a picnic at Madison Square Park on Sunday, July 12, from 12:30 to 2:00 pm.  Lunch will be provided.  Please meet at the Center at 12:15 pm if you wish to attend.

July 19

July 19: Please join us on the third floor after the service on Sunday, July 19 from 12:00-1:00 pm for our monthly Fellowship Social. A vegetarian lunch will be served and all are welcome! This is a great way to get to know each other and share spiritual fellowship.

July 25

July 25: Our Babaji Commemoration Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 6:30-8:00 pm. Please bring a flower as a symbol of devotion to God and Guru, and a donation may be offered as a symbol of loyalty to Self-Realization Fellowship. Special services are open to SRF students and members and anyone drawn to the Self-Realization Fellowship line of Gurus.
