
September 3: Our Janmashtami Service, to honor the birth of Bhagavan Krishna, will be held on Thursday, September 3, from 6:30-8:00 pm. Please bring a flower as a symbol of devotion for God and Guru, and a donation may be offered as a symbol of loyalty to Self-Realization Fellowship. Special services are open to SRF students and members and anyone drawn to the SRF line of Gurus. Due to this special service, the regular Thursday evening Inspirational Service has been cancelled.

September 6: We will be holding a Chanting Service in the main chapel on Sunday, September 6, from 12:30-1:30 pm. The service consists of chants alternating with brief periods of meditative silence. Paramahansa Yogananda encouraged the practice of devotional chanting as an aid to Divine perceptions. If you plan to attend, please be seated in the chapel by 12:25 pm.

September 13: The Young Adults Group will meet on Sunday, September 13 at 12:15 pm in the third floor social area. All young adults, ages 18-40, are invited to join in this hour of fellowship and discussion, followed by a vegetarian lunch.

September 19: Come join us on Saturday, September 19 when the New York City Center of Self-Realization Fellowship will host its annual India Night! The evening will feature a skit, Two Penniless Boys in Brindaban, based on a life event from Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi, Indian classical bhajans and dance performances by talented NYCC devotees, a vegetarian dinner, and a video showcasing India’s spiritual heritage. September 20: On Sunday, September 20, a recorded monastic talk will be shown from 11:00 am-12:00 pm. In this talk by Brother Sevananda entitled, How to Find Peace in Today's World, he explains how finding peace within ourselves will help create peace in our outer environment. As Paramahansa Yogananda said, "Peace in the world starts with peace in individual hearts."
